I love the colors, shapes and compositions of abstract artist
Takashi Iwasaki. His work is cheerful and surreal and reminds me of
Joan Miro,
Paul Klee, and
Takashi Murakami. He creates what he refers to as "Abbies," a nickname for his abstract drawings, which comes from the word
ab-stract. The individual names of Abbies are fragments of Japanese, English, and sounds based on themes found in the piece. It's all wonderful, but his embroidery work is especially impressive.
